Outdoor Recreation is right here in Lock Haven and Clinton County, PA! Five state parks offer a multitude of activities throughout the year.  And our miles of lakes and river are just waiting for you. 

Whether you like to fish, swim or boat, Clinton County has it all. All summer long and through early fall the river is a great place to unwind. Head out on the river with a kayak or take a canoe trip downstream.  And Clinton County is one of Pennsylvania's top counties for fishing! Fishing Creek is one of our many Class A wilderness trout streams and one of the top five wild trout streams in the state. Try Kettle Creek Reservoir for some great trout fishing.  Soak up some sun at the beach at Sayer's Dam at Bald Eagle State Park or the City Beach just steps away from downtown shopping.

For sportsman, the forest is a prime site for hunting or fishing, while other outdoor activities include mountain biking in summer and cross country skiing and snowmobiling during the winter months.  Wildlife flourishes in our mountains and white-tail deer, elk and wild turkey are plentiful. In the northern region of the county, hunting camps and small cabins offer rustic accommodations for hunters.

Bald Eagle Megatransect Endurance Race - Saturday, October 3, 2009

Seven hundred trail runners and hikers descend upon Bald Eagle Mountain during the fall when the Bald Eagle Megatransect Endurance Race is held. Participants from all over the United States come to tackle this 24.9 mile course up and over the Bald Eagle Mountain. Sheer climbs across boulder fields, thickly forested trails, stream crossings and a 5,000 foot ascent have earned it a reputation as one of the most challenging races of its kind on the East coast. Hyner View Trail Challenge - Saturday, April 2010

The Hyner View Trail Challenge is a 25 kilometer race through beautiful Sproul State Forest. Hundreds of people attend this race from across the country to see amazing vistas such as Hyner View along the trail. Visit their website at www.hikerun.com.
