Hometown Hero Banner Program & Celebration
Downtown Lock Haven Inc. proudly
presents the “Hometown Heroes” banner program, a tribute to soldiers
from Clinton County who served or are serving our country in a branch of
the military. This program is a partnership between Downtown Lock Haven
Inc. and the Clinton County Veteran’s Affairs Office.
We are proud to announce that
Downtown Lock Haven Inc. will install 365 banners that will be located
throughout downtown and along the 2.5 mile levee river walk.
Each individual banner
is unique
and honors a specific Clinton County soldier including their picture,
branch of service, era of service and hometown in Clinton County.
While we know there are thousands of Clinton County Veterans who have
served our country; this project is representative of their sacrifice
and dedication. We hope to continue to celebrate all of our
Veterans through the Hometown Hero Program in the coming years.
Clinton County's
Hometown Hero Program is
non-political and non-partisan. It is purely a living memorial to those
soldiers from Clinton County who served our country.
Join us on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at
Triangle Park in downtown Lock Haven as we host the Hometown Hero
Celebration at 10 am. Following a ceremony and unveiling of one
banner, families will be invited to unveil their banners with our
sponsors. This will truly be a special day for our community and
we hope you will join us in celebrating our Hometown Heroes.
