Hometown Hero Mural
In addition to the Hometown Hero Banners, Downtown Lock Haven Inc. has
been invited to facilitate that painting of a Hometown Hero Mural
(above) on the side of 100 East Main Street. Currently there are seven,
four foot by eight foot panels located on the building on the corner of
Vesper and Main Street which were once used for advertisements.
George Stefanski, portrait painter and certified mural artist,
has designed a digital image which is a draft of the mural that
will be painted on this 28 foot by 8 foot area. The mural
depicts the American eagle holding the banner “Bravery of a few
protects us all” and is labeled at the bottom “Clinton County
Veterans we remember you”.
M & T Bank, Jersey Shore State Bank, Dr. Richard and DiAnn
Stuempfle, and the Bitner Beech Creek American Legion have
contributed a total of $6,600 towards this project.
Additional funding is still needed to make this mural a reality
for Clinton County.
While the mural will not be completed for the May 3rd
celebration, we hope to have the project started at that time.
Mr. Stefanski will be painting this mural at the Clinton County
Arts Council and visitors will be welcome to visit during the
painting of the mural.
