By: Larry Shue. By the same author as last year’s sold-out
hit The Foreigner.
Willum Cubbert has often told his friends about the debt he
owes to Rick Steadman, a fellow ex-GI whom he has never met
but who saved his life in Vietnam. Willum is delighted when
Rick shows up unexpectedly at his apartment on the night of
his thirty-fourth birthday party. But his delight soon fades
as it becomes apparent that Rick is a hopeless "nerd"—a
bumbling oaf with no social sense, little intelligence and
less tact. And Rick stays on and on, leading to one
uproarious incident after another, until the normally placid
Willum finds himself contemplating violence—a dire
development which, happily, is staved off by the surprising
"twist" ending of the play. "…the audience almost never
stops laughing—handkerchiefs wiping away tears of
merriment…" —Variety

Book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert.
Music and Lyrics by Frank Loesser . In this satire of big
business and all it holds sacred, J. Pierrepont Finch, a
lowly window washer reads the book "How To Succeed In
Business Without Really Trying" in order to climb the
corporate ladder. In his rise to a high powered executive he
tackles potent dangers as the boss' whiny, nepotistic
nephew, backstabbing co-workers, caffeine addiction and, of
course, true love. “It stings mischievously and laughs
uproariously. Big Business is not likely to be the same
again? The New York Times.

Theatre
Country Club Lane, Mill Hall, PA 17751. For tickets and

By: Ira Levin. The longest-running thriller in Broadway
history. Sidney Bruhl, a writer of Broadway thrillers, is
struggling to overcome a "dry" spell, when he receives a
script from one of his students. Sidney realizes his
student’s thriller is a potential Broadway hit and will stop
at nothing to get his name on the show. Sidney and his wife
devise a plan to collaborate on it with him, and life starts
to imitate art. The suspense mounts steadily as the plot
twist and turn with devilish cleverness. You will be
enthralled with an abundance of laughter and thrills until
the final, startling moments of the play. "If you care to
assassinate yourself with laughter, try DEATHTRAP." —Time
Magazine.

Millbrook Playhouse
Presents: NOISES OFF (G) on
Main Stage
Country Club Lane, Mill Hall, PA 17751. For tickets and
additional info: 570-748-8083. By: Michael Frayn. A company
is in their final dress rehearsal for a dreadful sex comedy
titled Nothing On—a play where young girls run about in
their underwear, old men drop their trousers, and doors
continually open and shut. However, at the final dress the
doors won’t open, the old men forget their entrances and
nothing goes right. Noises Off shows you the hysterical
back stage antics involved in putting on a production.
"Bumper car brilliance ... If laughter is indeed the best
medicine, NOISES OFF is worth its weight in Cipro."—New York
Daily News.
