Downtown Lock Haven Inc. and the Clinton County Veterans Affairs Office are pleased to present the Hometown Hero Banner Program. This streetlight banner program is a tribute to those from Clinton County who have or are serving our country in a branch of the military.
The 2008 Clinton County Hometown Hero Program was a successful project that included a total of 367 banners installed downtown and along the river. This project started many initiatives including the Clinton County Hometown Hero Mural, Comedy Night, and a beautiful newspaper series now featured every Monday in the Express entitled “The Lives Behind the Banners”.
Now in our third round of Hometown Hero Banner Programs, Clinton County PA has celebrated over 1,500 veterans and the impact of this program has yet to be measured but we know it meant a great deal to hundreds of family members and friends who have participated in this project. We also know that we have made such an impression that communities across Pennsylvania and from around the country that are replicating this program. The Clinton County Hometown Hero Program has brought our community closer together.
We encourage you to visit Lock Haven and tour our Hometown Hero Banners. Stop by our office at 205 East Main Street and pick up a program guide. Please contact us if you have any questions at (570) 748-1576 or email downtown@lockhaven.org.
